Because you're awesome. And maybe he has a cute friend.
I have successfully de-crankified myself, finally. I came home from work and did NOT sit down on my ass -- I put my new bed stuff in the laundry! All new fresh and clean stuff to sleep on tonight! Plus, guacamole as (part of) dinner.
How come?
Um, because even though he is in a relationship, he finds you attractive and so he wants to spend more time with you. But since he's in a relationship, he has to make sure you know it's not a date, so he can tell himself he's a good boyfriend, he's not going on a date with you, after all, he's just meeting a friend for dinner. He could even tell his girlfriend if he wanted to, that he's meeting a friend for dinner, because see it's not a date. And hell, he can even flirt a bit, since you know already that it's not a date. And that way, he can drive both you and the girlfriend just a bit crazy, all the while telling himself that he's not the kind of guy who'd ever go out on his girlfriend.
Or, you know, I am totally wrongheaded and still perhaps a wee bit bitter about the whole boyfriend-not-dating-my-friend-until-he-left-me-for-her thing.

How much do you usually tip a hair stylist?
I tend to tip around 15%--but I also tip the shampooer a few bucks if some poor, lowly person who's just waiting to get a chair of her own as a stylist washes. And if I love the cut, I'll tip 20%
I'm within the norm, it seems.
I tip about 20%, depending on how rounding makes sense.
and still perhaps a wee bit bitter
It's a righteous bitter, if you are...

$10. It's a little more than 20%, but I like her a lot and she listens. I pay extra for actually listening.
Excellent. Thank you. Two friends went to the same salon over the weekend and came back with awesome hair, so I'll be tipping more if this guy makes me look good.

Huh. That article reads sorta rude to me.
What salon staff wants you to do: Start from 20 percent to be fair.
I want a pony. To be fair.
I will settle for a great haircut tomorrow though.
Timelies all!
Stopped at the library after work today. Did my usual come-out-with-more-books-than-I-returned thing.(Hi. I'm Sheryl, and I'm addicted to books.)
It's a righteous bitter, if you are...
hrm. I can't really call my bitterness righteous as it was so long ago I don't even think about it anymore. Certainly I retain no strong feelings about him. I have no business being bitter about it anymore. I just, er, get pinged by certain subtle behaviors I guess.
