Happy Canada Day, everyone!
I am honouring it by studying, but it's sunny, so I don't care that much. Also I am going to make a celebratory bacon, potato and cheddar frittata for lunch. Mmmm.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I made a frittata for breakfast. I hereby declare it celebratory.
Okay, stupid question. The World Cup announcers were just talking about the heat and how the next World Cup in South Africa would be so much hotter. Assuming the event is still in June/July, isn't it winter there now? Is it always hot in SA? I'm confused. Or they're confused.
Is it always hot in SA?

You'd have to ask her.
I'm tempted to edit, but I'll resist. It's good to know you're on call even when SPP is out checking her mail.
She deputized me.
Yay for celebratory lunch/breakfast/brunch! The frittata has been made and consumed. It turned out very nicely, especially considering that I don't take good care of my cast-iron frying pan, so it's non-stick-ness is almost entirely imaginary.
Looks like South Africa is today having highs in the 23-25 degree range (C, of course), and some areas highs only 14-15. Even 25 is less than the current 85-90 F in Germany.
Sports announcers may not be known for their weather savvy.
DH says Capetown gets chilly, but not really cold. Pretty temperate.
Would they be playing the world cup at this time of year in SAFF or during their summer?
