Art Crawl!!!

Wimbledon: On the one hand, I'm disappointed in Blake's disintegration in the 5th set. On the other hand -- Mirnyi is goin to play his doubles partner next - interesting.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. I could outdo you all if I just quit my job....

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We aren't off Monday, but I'm taking it as a vacation day.

The Boy's best friend lives in a house that's right on the route for the 4th of July parade in his neighborhood, so we're going to sit in his front yard and watch the parade. Plus, there's a big neighborhood festival after the parade.

Best of all -- on Monday evening his neighborhood is kicking off the holiday with what's being billed as a "Pre-4th of July Rock 'n Roll Carnival -- Beer garden, fire breathers, burlesque show and carnival side show."

When we saw the poster for that, I looked at The Boy and said "We're going to that." He said, "We SO are!" Fire breathers! Sideshow freaks! Beer! What more could you want?

Part of the SCOTUS ruling:

The Court’s conclusion ultimately rests upon a single ground: Congress has not issued the Executive a “blank check.” . . . Nothing prevents the President from returning to Congress to seek the authority he believes necessary. Where, as here, no emergency prevents consultation with Congress, judicial insistence upon that consultation does not weaken our Nation’s ability to deal with danger. To the contrary, that insistence strengthens the Nation’s ability to determine — through democratic means — how best to do so. The Constitution places its faith in those democratic means. Our Court today simply does the same.

Yay. Go them. I think this is the key phrase: "judicial insistence upon that consultation does not weaken our Nation’s ability to deal with danger" - which directly contradicts what many conservatives are saying about Bush's actions....

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We have a half-day on Monday, and I'm debating calling in sick. (I'm out of vacation days since I'm taking off almost 2 full weeks in September, but I have sick days out the wazoo.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you don't go to sleep late and then you wake up early and go to the gym it's quite cool. I feel it helps you clear your head, get extra energy, plus endorphins. And there's the mocha protein smoothie.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We don't have Monday off. I'm expecting a slow day. Wouldn't be surprised if we close early.
