I don't get the link between this look and gauchos.
On MTV, and among my friends, the increasingly popular look over the last few months is to pair gauchos--usually jersey thin material--with a-shirts. Making it have no form, no structure, and look way dressed-down. Beyond casual into couldn't-bother-to-dress-myself. I think it looks sloppy.
Cool - a snake that can change color.
Hey, speaking of snakes! Someone set up a "snakes on the mountain" exhibit here in the library. I'm betting they're riffing off SOAP. It's amusing. And kind of terrifying.
I just can't be fond of a look that spawns off the wifebeater/a-shirt phenomenom that you can go out in your pajamas.

Me neither, and I love wearing my A-shirts. Comfy and forgiving and sassy.
My latest strappy sandals, bought for this dress. I think they works.
Tommyrot: Who said anything about buying? The MB needs a good home.
Well if you're offering to give it to me, I'd be happy to give it a good home and take care of it and call it George....

Unsurprisingly, I am as juliana in this regard.

But will you pet it?
Todd, those are adorable... hmm...
But will you pet it?
Wait, he did say leather, right? OK then, I'll pet it....
Don't get me started on the bullshit about flip-flops. Fuck that, I don't want to wear socks in the summer.
I think, for me, the problem is the term. Flip flops are beach shoes. But there are sandals done in the thong style which are not flip flops, and in an office where hosiery isn't a required part of the dress, and/or if other women wear other sorts of open toed sandals, then the thong sandal ought to be acceptable, as well.
