Um, I cut my own hair yesterday. I'm fairly sure that makes me a bad person. But I also bleached the roots and redyed the pink, so there is that.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Happy Birthday, Hec.

ETA: Well, that was probably one of the more unique calls I've gotten. Apparently a cabinet fell of the wall last night and crushed a user's laptop. Here's hoping the hard drive survived.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Knitted nautiloids

For almost 500 million years, nautiloids [see below] were the coolest kids around. They ate trilobites, had shells in a variety of fantastical shapes, and ranged from bite-size to 12 feet long.

Every scary prehistoric beast should be made into a huggable toy, and I say it's the nautiloid's turn. With this pattern you can make one in an evening, in easy stockinette on dpns.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Happy birthday, Hec!!!

Cereal with raspberries:

Rescue Me: I think the Johnny-Janet-Tommy thing is way more about Johnny and Tommy than Janet. I'm interested to see how Angela plays out. i"m a little suspicious that it'll just be another opportunity for Tommy to sleep with a beautiful woman without being the aggressor which is weird considering last week. Which I still don't really understand. I guess that settled something between Tommy and Janet to their satisfaction, but I don't even know what to say about it. Fucked up.

It was really good to see Tommy crying. Nobody seemed to grieving last week and that really bothered me.

Oh, and I agree, the Franco storyline is more interesting than I thought it would be. It's weird that neither Franco nor Tommy had thought about what they were teaching their daughters about men, but as soon as they thought of it they were terrified. I hope this isn't just a way to get Franco unencumbered.

I am so curious about where they are going with Probie. He'd be so better off leaving, but then I probably would never find out what happens with him and the roommate.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I had to leave my car at the dealership this morning, which means I took the bus to work, so I actually read this month's National Geographic magazine (my parents give it to me, and I don't have the heart to tell them that they usually sit on my coffee table until I spill something on them, then get recycled). Things I learned:

1) Pandas? Very very cute, but hella expensive for zoos.
2) We're very hard on our coastlines.
3) There is still one living Ziegfield Follies dancer. She's 102, lives in Norman Oklahoma, and still dances.
