Happy Birthday, J.Z.!
Thanks, Emily! No, I haven't really looked at DIY stuff, since it's all gonna have to wait, no matter what, unless it can be fixed for under $20. Plus, it's a power mirror. So mostly I'm just scared about what anyone's gonna say. And I still need to fix the slashes in my roof. So irritating.
Joss is so cool.
Smart cars are hysterical. I am bigger than them.
Sometimes I'd think it'd be fun to have an old (mid-'60s or older) VW Beetle to use to run around town....
You should totally get a bright yellow one and paint an Autobot symbol on the hood.
That or get a blue one, which pretty much speaks for itself.
my mom's was forest-green.
VW seems to have a set of colours that they only sell in their new Beetle convertibles. I saw one in this delicious dark red--made me want to lick the car.
Speaking of colors, I now have a bright purple cast after a visit to the orthopedist. Still don't need surgery, though, so yay. Am oddly reassured for someone who's going to be in a cast for six weeks.
Yay for no surgery, Dana, and for the purpleness of the cast. I hope it is not too uncomfortable for you, and that your ankle apprecuates the cofddling and stops collapsing.

My aunt has a 1967 or 68 VW convertible that I covet. She's had it for at least 30 years and may very well be the original owner. I love that car.

Can we tell you things to write on it in lieu of being there?
Good to hear no surgery.
On my recent drive out to Victor's, I passed what looked for all the world like a racing VWBug, being towed on a trailer. It's one of those things you see on the highway (like a cow in a horse trailer) that you wonder what the real story is on it.
I'd really like a Vespa.
