Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

OK. now I've got it. First, you get the womens.

Then you get the PhD...

Dang. That isn't it, either.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

No, no, no...first women get women and then PhD or the reverse.

Or something.

Ah! That's it! First, get to be a woman...

Wait. This philosophy leaves out some us.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No, no, no...first women get women and then PhD or the reverse.

But, you know, Mars needs women.

What have you been up to, Gus?

Ah- hah!

First, you get to Mars ...

Or was it Venus? My head is starting to ache.

Hi, tommyrot. I've been a busy boy. I wrote a long thing that a publisher bought. Then they hated every second syllable of it, so I had to make up stuff before the check bounced. In the meanwhile, I did some software that had the primary side-effect of working only for my testcases.

Other than this, I have been lounging around looking pretty.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Is the interviewer here [link] kinda slimey, or am I just feeling that way because the interviewee is my brother's wife?

I was happy to see Sophie's World got a good review. My dad and I thoroughly enjoyed it and mom kept falling asleep while reading it. Given we three tend to have the same taste in reading (lots and often...ok, maybe a little more discriminating) we're still trying to figure out her disconnect. OTOH, they like Cormac McCarthy, and I can't get past the second page (I HATE unattributed dialogs that go on and on and I practically need to add speakers in the margins.)

My ac is working...a little better. Dear Walter worked on the unit (all parts were made to be in working order, so it should work, right?) , and while it is putting out cooler air than it was and the apt did get cooled down considerably....it's still only 5 degrees below room temp. I'll see how it does over the weekend. Maybe. They are having the contractors work through the weekend, so I may grab one of them if it doesn't spontaneously improve overnight. Which I am suspecting it won't. The unit is (we figured this out from a maintenance record penned inside the door) pre-1971! It's older than me.

Jeez, my life is so exciting that all I have to share is the state of my ac...shit.

OH! My mom got a professional development teacher position at the elementary school just 4 blocks from their house! Yay! She'd interviewed for a pool of positions at 5 other schools and the one that picked her, she really REALLY didn't want to work at based on its reputation so she turned it down ( ...it's sort of like a sports draft. Overall, they pick the top 5 people from the interviews. Then the schools have to pick from that pool in a certain order.) Then, this new position opened up after she turned down the other. And she got it!

What is even happening?

A little slimey, aurelia. Of course, I hate him for the red font, and for these:

note to our male readers, Im trying really hard for us to get some shots of her in a bikini
and
(Im still picturing susan in here leather so I forgot to laugh to with her
...particularly as he left the apostrophe out of I'm. Twice.

She should crush him.
