Apparently they're closing the LA-area Six Flags Magic Mountain. I've never been, so it's all my fault.
I have a lot of great memories there! I love Magic Mountain. But agree with this:
Shapiro said in the call with investors Thursday that Magic Mountain is a sale candidate partly because of its rowdy teenage atmosphere.
Rowdy is right.
You never hear of Cedar Point having those issues.
Yeah, it's nicer, right? But apparently they probably aren't a buyer because they just bought Paramount's parks.
I thought I had fond memories of Magic Mountain, but when I started actually trying to remember those memories, I think they're of Raging Waters.
My mother took me and 5 friends to Magic Mountain for my birthday one year.
My 13th birthday.
She was the only adult.
I'm pretty sure she won't be sorry to see it go.
But apparently they probably aren't a buyer because they just bought Paramount's parks.
If Cedar Fair Ltd. were to buy just Magic Mountain, they would then have the most coasters than any chain ever ever ever. Plus, they'd then own Tatsu - the new flying coaster - which they lost the bid on a few years ago for Cedar Point, IIRC.

Woo-hoo, I've got the Tivo set, Aimee!
I'm hoping I can push my way through the throngs of World Cup fans at work and change the channel.
Wow - gangs have been a problem at Magic Mountain for ever, or easily 20 years. Did it take that long for revenue to tank?
My standout memory of Magic Mountain is the DH (who wasn't the DH then, and might possibly have been dating someone else) getting felt up by Bugs Bunny. Bugs walked by and grabbed a handful of DH's ass while we were waiting in a line.
