I'll sometimes substitute an orange for a lemon. And sometimes, just baking soda does the trick.

My work is all about drinking. Drinking during my recruitment lunch got me hired. Note: I do not recommend this. And it's been awhile since I've gotten drunk with colleagues.
No, wait, there was a boozy lunch three weeks ago. But I haven't attended any summer recruitment events.
Watching a TiFauxed Frontline about Cheney and Tenet about the use and abuse of the CIA in the march to war and it's pretty fascinating. Recommended!

Heh. My brother got taken out for shots basically as his interview. His boss shoved over a shot and pulled out some cigarettes, and my brother's friend, who'd made the connection for him, was frantically gesturing "take it, take it!" in the background.
I mean, he had the chops and the qualifications for the job, easy, but he's convinced that if he hadn't done the shots and smoke the cigarettes without batting an eye, he wouldn't have gotten the job.
(Y'all understand that he doesn't work in the US of A, right? Things are different there. Lucky bastard.)
If smoking were a requirement of the job, i wouldn't want to get hired. Doing shots during the interview, that I could handle.
If anyone has presses to stop, I actually cooked tonight. Made a huge mess as per usual, but I got at least 2 nights' worth of vermicelli with zucchini, shrimp, and pesto sauce out of the bargain. Also, I watched the Kathy Griffin comedy special where she talked about Barbra Steisand on Oprah and going to see Clay Aiken in concert. It was hilarious.

Oh, I love that part! Girl is very funny.

If the shot was strong enough, I'd use the cigarette to light it on fire.
Tonight I went to listen to Mechelle Goldberg, author of Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism It was funny and depressing. OK, Michelle was funny - her talk was depressing.
Good book, though. Yet surprisingly depressing.
Surprisingly?
Where was she? I've been meaning to get that book.
