Burrell! How wonderful to post with you!

How are you and yours doing? When is the semester over for you?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh the semester ended in May, but now I am teaching summer school because we could use the extra cash.

We are all fine. The kids are very big, and Franny is quite a talker. How are you doing these days?

now I am teaching summer school

It's funny how you're already teachng the summer semester, while our spring (is that how you call it?) semester still has two more weeks to go.

Those schedules are different for different schools, in the USA, right? Here we have one date for elementary school (summer vacation starts on the 1st of July), another of high school (summer vacation starts on the 21st of June), and the universities change their date each year, according to when they could start the schoolyear (after the Jewish holidays that usually occupy September-October).

Franny is quite a talker

I can imagine that, but I can't really wrap my head around it. I mean, a baby who wasn't even born yet when I got to hold her (a son of a good friend) is now learning to speak, so obviously she's way ahead of him, but still.

As for me, it's the usual the-semester-ends-soon craziness. I really shouldn't be posting now. But other than that, the usual, in the good sense of "the usual".

I'm very pleased with my procrastinating today. I got to post with several great people whom I hadn't "seen" in a while. Very nice of the universe to arrange it like that.

Good Universe. We should give it lots of biscuits.

I just shot up my cat, and we both survived. YAY.

Considering the apple I was just eating turned out to be bad (and, yes, I was halfway through), could I get some of the universe biscuits, instead? (also, Perkins, that's such a sweet thing to say!)

we both survived.

Poor you both, but definitely Go You.

I wish all feline medications came in injectible form. So much easier.

Hoo boy, yes. Schedules are even known to vary within a school district. Where I grew up, school was usually out by June 1 and started up in the first half of August. I felt sorry for my cousins who were still in school in late June. Of course, come August, they felt sorry for me. Heh.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It was humid and warm this morning, but as the day goes past, it's supposed to get even warmer... but much more dry. So by 2 PM when I have my lunch, it should be well-nigh perfect.

I think I'm going to go over and sit in the Public Garden, if the wind is manageable.

You know whats worse than finding a worm in your apple, right?

Finding HALF a worm!

(I don't think I've told that joke since I was six.)

Schedules are even known to vary within a school district.

Why?

When I was a kid, a lot of the fun of the summer vacation was in spending lots of times with cousins that we usually didn't get to see much. They'd be at our place for a week or two (my mom was very brave), we'd go to their place for a while (some of my aunts and uncles got that bravery, too), it was great. We probably wouldn't have been able to do that with the different schedules.

Hee, yup, I do (I was six once, too!). And it wasn't a worm! It just had this brown stuff, but only on the inside, near its center. It looked perfectly OK on the outside.
