I thought I'd look at the Salish Lodge for the heck of it. It's at Snoqualmie Falls, the place in the opening credits of Twin Peaks. This [link] They are completely booked for July and August of next year. I doubt we could have afforded it anyway, but, yeah.

Fort Worden in Pt. Townsend is interesting. Upon a closer look, it's sort of like the Presidio in SF if it had been converted to vacation rental housing: lots of houses all converted for guest use, plus a beach and an upper camping area. It would seem to have a range of lodging, then, for all budgets. Folks can group up for house rentals, or camp. The camping isn't dirt cheap, actually. It's around $30 a day, but still, if you had a $150 lodging budget, you could stay 5 nights instead of 1.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That comic is totally neat, Kristin!

Kristin, I love that comic! And thanks for the heads-up about the software, too -- I could see possibly buying that for a program at my library, since I have a lot of kids who are really into comics.

Our wings are not tired.

I need to get that software for my boys. Fun stuff. The sample was verra cute too.

Kate! I saw your doppleganger yesterday at the grocery store. First I thought she looked like you, then she turned and smiled at her friend and she totally had your glorious smile too! I would have talked to her and told her that she looked like my beautiful friend, but she probably would have thought I was flirting in my gushiness and then I would be embarrassed. But it was nice to almost see you, unless you were shopping at Publix in Delray Beach yesterday in which case I am mighty upset I didn't say hi!

Thanks, guys! I was beginning to think maybe I was delusional in thinking it was kind of clever and fun. It's a great program, and I had a lot of fun with it. Tons of different treatments (watercolor, pencil, oil [that's the one I used], negative, etc.) and styles.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I hope not, because we have a couple hundred licenses for it floating around the looniversity... (Sadly, all the Comic Life projects I've worked with have been Japanese classes, which means I can't read the comics they produce.)

Heh. I meant my own sorry attempt at a comic, not the software. Vague pronouns are no one's friend!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I liked the comic but I wanted it to be bigger. Am I missing a way to make it bigger?

Nah, your pronouns were fine -- I just had your message and Laura's above it on my screen (about getting a copy of the program), and I didn't scroll back further for context that would actually make sense. D'oh!

But yes, Comic Life is terrific fun and cheap and ridiculously easy.

It's set to be full(ish) screen in slideshow mode and shows that way on my computer. Is it not on yours?
