F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.
Did I mention that I have to get up at 5:45? Yeah. We're 21 miles from home...and dead stopped on I-5. Multi-car accident ahead, apparently, and the paramedics *just* drove by. Fuckity.
I also just discovered that one of my-in theory-graduatiing seniors plagiarized his entire final paper from Spark Notes. That, combined with the four 70-minute classes I have to teach tomorrow, is going to make it a really long day.
But I love you all. And this weekend was great.
Well, P-C
is
most emphatically the loveliest lovely person in the history of Lovelyville. And not only because he carried two vast and cumbersome suitcases down a vast and slippery flight of stairs - but that certainly helped! P-C is
very
cool.
I have had such a very very lovely time. Will elaborate later, but just now I wanted to apologise to Deb, whom I didn't see to say thank you to earlier today when I scurried off with suitcases to the hotel. I'm hoping I'll see her today, maybe, to say thank you in person for all her most fabulous hospitality and kindness, but in the interim please consider this a public and most sincere apology for missing you this afternoon, and an enormous thank you.
Beyond tired. Need to be up early to get the Liko back to Hayward and get the HS emptied out. I also need to find fifty or sixty bucks to leave as a tip for the housekeeping staff; they were spectacular.
juliana, I'll talk to Lilibeth and get a total in the morning; we can then pay the hotel directly. If you want me to handle it, we can arrange a direct transfer from your WFB account to ours.
I have to fall down. Nine hours sleep the last three days and I'm tearful and incoherent with exhaustion.
But I'm damned glad everything went well. Also want to see more Prom photos, damn it.
Fay! No worries, love. Did you get your mug back?
The Miracleborns are home, safe and sound. Em is already in bed, Joe and I are having a wind down, talk about the weekend beer. Sad to be home.
But can't wait for more pictures. Our camera died. Dead dead deadsky. For those of you playing the home game, a word to the wise:
Don't let a toddler chew on your camera.
Did I mention that I have to get up at 5:45?
Feeling your pain. Was in bed around 1, asleep around 2, up at 5:45. Yay!
No one should be too shy to approach me! Easygoing Polter-Cow, that's what the kids at school call me.
You know how fat men are sometimes called Tiny?
Sorry. Automatic reflex. I imagine that had I been there, I'd be Fay's back-up singer of your praises, P-C.
It reads like everyone had a wonderful time. This makes me happy. It also reads like the PBP/F2F plague lives on, and will not be thwarted by modern medicine.
I'm just praying my share of the F2F disease holds off until sometime late on Tuesday morning. When I'll be home!
But in the meantime, shower, packing, checking out, rendezvous with Le Scola for breakfasting, BART BART BART, rendezvous with Perkins, DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE, et cetera.
Deb's hospitality = amazing, btw.
It was really sad-making to depart the Hospitality last night, all these great people that I had to say goodbye to, many of whom I still didn't get serious chat time with. Not that I was unhappy with those whom I
did
get to spend some major time with... it's just that I suspect I could have spent 24/7 interacting and still not have 100% interaction. (I'm not sure that I ever got to introduce myself to Cass, for instance.)
At least I shall get some major Cass-Tom-Perkins time in today!
My ears fixed themselves overnight. It felt like there was too much fluid in them or something - weird.
I am completely fried but I feel amazingly relaxed. Like, my usual level of free-floating background anxiety is missing. But anyway, my brain works in weird ways....
My mother told me to tell y'all thanks for everything, especially Deb, who has mad party planning skills(she used more words than that.)
Fay, you have a standing invite to come see us and read "The Wolves In The Walls" again...we'll have biscuits and milk or something.(Either she thought the reading was very cute or she also has a girlcrush on you, but that is one subject I'll let lie.)
After this weekend, my tag is feeling just crazy appropriate! I kind of did the "come as you're not" thing, but it was great.
Also loved "Scooby Road", my first look at real-life bellydancing and Pete's Eeyore voice.
