There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

And the hotel sent a guy to empty all the wastebaskets. Can vacuuming be far behind?

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Wah! Wish I were there. I've got rehearsal at noon, though. I just realized that I have no idea which of the men I saw last night was Scola. I was able to identify Sean by all the people who leapt up and said "Sean!" There were also quite a few women I didn't get to meet. And my memory for names is so bad I think I need Buffista Trading Cards.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

S *really* enjoyed meeting everyone

And everyone enjoyed meeting her! She rocks. AND she has a fabulous coat. It's all about the coat.

We're both hoping to make it out to wherever next year, and we both certainly want to travel and hang witghpeeps on their home stomping grounds.

Start saving the airmiles, baby. Or plotting bank robbery, or whatever it takes - if you can get your ass to Thailand, and you don't need to worry about the hotel accommodation or expensive food'n'travel or any of that shit. Gorgeous beaches. Thai food is just, you know, FOOD - as in "let's go out for...food." Plus - the pingpong ball trick. Apparently.

looks pointedly at rest of Buffistadom

Bangkok for then next F2F, 'kay? (Even if it's only thee and me, whomsoever thou art, oh Buffista my Buffista!)

Okay, sad now. Missing my peeps already.

Oh, but you were there, love! And cute as a button! And everyone was It's Sean!!!! Woohoo!!!!

But it was a very successful Prom. Not just fun but that good connection and building little flesh and blood anchors that sustain and enrich the online life.

Yes. This.

A lot of dancing at this Prom.

looks guilty.

Er. I may have been indulging in geekly fanvid bonding during much of the dancefloor time. But y'all looked fantastic on the dancefloor when I nipped back downstairs! Consuela and Laura did a just marvellous job of making viddage happen, not just with Scooby Road ( which, man, was AWESOME) but also with the later unofficial vidfest - I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this, because heaven knows I'm not likely to get the chance to go to Vividcon or anything along those lines any time in the foreseeable future, and I don't have broadband, so my obtainment of vids is patchy and involves many determined hours of downloading and downloading and downloading (although this has resulted in about nine vids being loaded onto iRodney to date). But the quality of the images was fanTAStic, and vidders are very very clever people. I'm awed. Go them. (And Laura was just lovely like a lovely thing exuding lovely and wrapped in a gorgeous frock. And she's a babe.) Oooh, speaking of which - Nutty, I realised last night, reminds me powerfully of Jennifer Garner. Although quite possibly more gorgeous.

We missed Jon B.'s theremin, but got to see Smonster's super sexy belly dance performance.

Yes on both points.

Everybody had a digital camera so I expect there will be brazilians of pictures up eventually.

OMG, I so cannot wait. All your digital photos are belong to me!!!!

I helped Matt the Beth DH load the PA's out of the prom room

Matt is SUCH a cutiehead, and he's been a real star with the manly technical organisy helpfulness stuff - most every time I've seen him he's been all Enabler Guy, with the PA equipment and the Erika Chairlift and all that. Go Team Matt.

Speaking of Erika - she is one damned feisty minx. ijs.

SO enjoying my time here, omg. Huge props to Deb and Deb's Nic for last night, and to the lovely Lilibeth. SO pleased that Betsy managed to make it over to the Hospitality Suite too - it was like royalty dropping by. Only better, because royalty I really could care less about (although I want their jewellery), but Betsy is kind and clever and wise and witty and a Damned Good Thing, and it's lovely to get the chance to hug her and squeeze her and mentally call her George.

Oh Theo. Yeah, I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with you. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with anybody. Spidra, I'm not sure I actually got to meet you (sad now). I'm sure I saw you at some point, and it was hard getting a chance to talk to and meet all the people that were there.

And just for you Spidra, if it helps at all, Scola was the one with the million dollar smile.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DEB

She's just discovered that she's NOT going to be able to help anyone get to the airport on Monday (that includes me & Jeeves, and anyone else who was counting on that) because she has no wheels.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ME

...um, Hec, just wondering whether y'all would be able to swing by and pick me up before you head over to the hotel for Baseball? Probably the simplest way of getting there, since Deb is going to be in a frenzy of Barbecue prep?

Polter-Cow - May 21, 2006 8:07:56 am PDT #918 of 10002
What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

If anyone has Deb's address, could you e-mail me? I'd like to make it to the BBQ, but I don't know where to, you know, go.

Fay is awesome, for the record.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Good morning, hoping everyone had a good time last night because I did, not staying online because I'm about to hit the ground running, people who have my street address include Matt and Beth and Perkins and Hec and jesus who else right NoiseDesign and Ginger and Bev and I know there are more and I really want to see some pictures from last night at some point and ND, THANK YOU for some classic rock that included Bruce and our beloved Stones.

Off to clean up and get food prepped. Sadly, dessert, albeit very pretty, is store-bought. No time to bake yesterday.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Eeep! Fay, thanks for the heads-up. If you and the Jeeves (waves) would like to go in on a cab or a shuttle to the airport, I'd be up for that. I think we were all in the same airport run (for noonish flights).

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Awww, Fay, I'll tell Laura you said that. She had a lovely time herself.

Me, I'm wretchedly ill; some time between falling into bed at 2:30 and waking up for the first time at 5 am, I developed a horrible cold, with a sore throat and all sorts of gunk in my sinuses. I will not therefore be attending Deb's BBQ, which is sad-making.

Nutty is up and looks none the worse for her danceathon evening, and she's even making scrambled eggs!

Now I must go honk into tissues and grouse about having to work.
