My sister is getting married in October. She lives in Vegas, her fiancee is from Missouri and they have decided to get married back in Louisiana. I thought I might help her out by finding out which local hotels would give her friends and his family the best deal.

Which is to say, does anyone have a copy of the RFE we send to hotels when planning the F2F? And if so, can I have it?

Discussion time:

Our room block is currently set up in the Quality Inn. Do not ask me how this happened, it was my impression when talking to the assitant sales coordinator, Lucia, that we were talking about the Candlewood (they're jointly owned by QI corp.) Talking to the other assistant, Shannon, who is covering for Lucia while on vacation, reveals we are in the Quality Inn. The Quality Inn does not have a room available for our prom. The Candlewood does have room for both our room block and for prom. The two venues (QI and CI) are at opposite ends of what is known as Hatchery Hill, about a block in length with a shopping center between them.

So, we could have rooms in QI, prom at Candlewood or have both at Candlewood.

Pros to the QI are daily maid service (CI is residential suites, so they only do linens once a week) and QI has a very nice restaurant in it called the Tuscany Grill. Also, the Ultimate Spa and Salon.

CI doesn't have a restaurant. CI, however, is right behind a Qdoba and a Caribou Coffee.

Also, in either venue, a hospitality suite will cost us $129 a day. Do we want to have that available Thursday - Sunday or just Friday - Sunday.

My two cents...

I always prefer to have the prom at the hotel--so much better for drinking/breaks for shy folks/changes, etc.

The HS is best if we can book it Friday-Sunday so long as we can do a late clean out on Sunday--if not, it would be really good to have it through Monday morning since people gather there to say goodbye, plot excursions, etc. all day Sunday. Believe me, no one wants to get up early on Sunday to deal with clean-up.
