Alas, work circumstances mean that I have not yet been able to find the time/energy to do a proper round of research on St. Louis as a venue for the next F2F.

Not meaning to nag, but if people have an interest in having a Midwest F2F this year, we really need to get make decisions and take action. If there isn't interest this year, please ignore me, but I would hate to go much longer and not be able to have one at all.

So far the only city that has been officially pimped is Madison by SailAweigh, but we'd also talked about St. Louis, Memphis, Ann Arbor...so here's the pimpage info I'd posted a few months ago based on what we've done in the past. I think it's probably too late for the earlier dates, but I'll throw it all there FYI.

When? Range for possible weekends (defined by Saturday): March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28.

Where? All nominations should have a contact person (preferably local).

Several of us have handled hotel reservations in the past for Buffistas, so feel to ask if you need further clarification. I did NOLA and still have that schtuff somewhere.

Yes! Let's get this going. I'm not in any of the above, but happy to help out however I can.

I'm the nearest to Memphis, but I really don't think it's a good choice for a F2F city. Downtown has attractions and a limited form of neat public transportation (the trolleys), but also lots of crime and no decent inexpensive hotels that I'm aware of. And outside that zone, public transportation is awful and affordable lodging tends to be in places where there's nothing else around.

I could check on Heartbreak Hotel if we want to try a Graceland-themed F2F, but I realize that might not appeal to all and there's not much that isn't Elvis-centric in that part of town.

I'd always be happy to play tour guide if a smaller group that can fit in one vehicle wants to visit sometime.
