You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I would try very hard to go to a F2F no matter where it is held. The closer it is to Chicago, the likelier I'd be to pull it off. My top three are:

1. Anyplace accessible by Chicago commuter rail. Some choices include Evanston, Geneva & Kenosha WI.

2. Kansas City

3. St Louis.

Those are all I recall from previous discussions. Were there others?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Detroit-ish (Ann Arbor, specifically, IIRC) is an obvious candidate, and I think Aimee has pimped it in the past. If not, this is not intended, and should not be considered as a nomination.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hey Chicago-istas, it looks like my time tomorrow has been scheduled so thoroughly that I won't be able to meet up with anyone after all. Maybe next time.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I will start pulling together information on St. Louis. What sort of info goes into the initial round of pimping, again?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

What Anne said. I'd be happy to throw Madison in the mix for this year's F2F.

The status is NOT quo.

Yippee!

Okay, here's a modification of vw's jumpstart post last year:

Things we need to decide:

When? Range for possible weekends (defined by Saturday): March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28.

Where? (All nominations should have a contact person (preferably local))

Where 2? Hotel/Prom location (trying to keep close to $100)

---

For pimping, I suggest the following format:

MY CITY PIMPAGE

Why here? Description of why your town/city rocks like a rocking thing. Past pimpage has included weather, links to fun events/museums/things to do, etc.

Initial Hotel/Prom Possibilities A few hotels you've looked into so far with tentative group rates and Prom locations/catering/bar/closeness to hotel, etc.

---

Several of us have handled hotel reservations in the past for Buffistas, so feel to ask if you need further clarification. I did NOLA and still have that schtuff somewhere.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I will put together a proposal for KC, but my acting as point for this is contingent on a mid-late June date. I got Prom, graduation (very Buffy comittments, eh?) and then a wedding.

For starters, tho, I THINK I could arrange Prom in the basement/club of a nice little gay bar that plays host to the local BDSM scenes monthly meetings. Cheap drinks, nice mixed clientele, sweet owner, and nothing we could wear would merit an astonished look.

39th street strip could provide a two block strip so that everyone could go en masse, and then decide where to eat: Cajun, Indian, Mongolian BBQ, sushi, dumplings, Vietnamese, Italian, and there's a liquor store and cigar/cig store I patronize with a pleasant musician owner.

Bus system is not excellent, but doable, and cabs are pretty cheap if you group it.

Excellent BBQ and jazz opps.

I could score us some cheap cases o' wine.

And there's me! Organizer of F2F #1!!!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Minneapolis and Nashville have also been floated as possibilities.

This sounds like a challenge.
