I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

vw, the train you need will be identified by saying it's going to Richmond. It won't be listed by color. At the station where you get on there's only one track in each direction, so the only mistake you can make is getting on one going in the wrong direction, and the fix would be to walk to get off at the next stop and walk to the other side of the track -- no big deal!

The $3 fare on the shuttle is the new fare. The buses/stop is labeled AirBart.

If you forget all this, Oakland airport is small, and you can find the information desk without going out of your way.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Surprisingly, it doesn't. It just says it's accessible to BART.

vw, your stop is City Center/12th Street. The Marriott is just a couple blocks from there. It's hard to miss, as evidenced by the fact that I've been to Oakland once when I was apt hunting and noticed it right away.

vw - the convention center is practically on top of the 12th street/City Center BART station. I think the actual address of where you are going is 10th and Broadway and I know there is an 11th stree exit from the station.

Cool. I'm not really worried. Just wanted to make sure.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

For Monday - I can get to anywhere, and I could drive you and your stuff around if that would be helpful - or you can leave your stuff in my trunk while we BART ir ferry or cable car around, as the case may be. Touristy possibilities: boat tours on the bay are fun if you like that sort of thing, but windy; Fisherman's Wharf; Lombard Street; Golden Gate Park.

It occurs to me that I don't really know Things To Do in SF.

Fisherman's Wharf is fun, as is Chinatown, and of course North Beach. The Haight is good (which can lead into GG Park), you could see the painted ladies at Alamo Square, you can go shopping in Union Square....

Also- Hec, megan, billytea, and whomever else - lunch on Friday? Can we hammer that out? The way the day is shaping up for me, I can't afford to wander or dilly-dally too much, but I could definitely meet somewhere like Out The Door or Orale Orale or Tokyo Express and sit and have lunch. Or we could all grab what we want from Rincon Center and enjoy the waterfall....
