Shit's all sorts of different now.

So.

There were a couple of discussions whilst in Chicago and talk of the next F2F came up and possible locations for it.

I, personally, am in favor of having it Chicago again.

My reasoning is thus:

* Very centralized and easy to get to. Two airports, the Megabus, Amtrak, and within driving distance of several people.

* Excellent public transportation.

* Even though it's been there before, we have had quite the influx of new people and the smaller and sadder outflux of others that might not make it to this one. It would be like a whole new crowd!

* Lots of stuff to do! Museums, river tours, city tours, porn shops, plays, musicals, baseball (2 teams!).

* Pretty inexpensive. I mean, if we can get a good hotel room in SF for $99/night, we can probably find somehing equatable for Chicago.

* Not as much worry about graduation ceremonies eating up all of the hotel space. DePaul's graduation is June 15, 2008 and Northwestern's has been historically around the same time. Plus, it's out in Evanston, so if we stay closer to the Loop or in the Gold Coast, we'd be far enough away, I think, to not have that particular worry.

So anyway - those are my thoughts. Please to be chiming in?

Mostly lurking...

I definitely support Aimee's plan. But then again, I was one of the people she talked about it with this weekend, so that's probably not surprising.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Well, someone should propose Chicago then and we'll vote and stuff.

I was kind of hoping that would kick off other cities being pimped and such.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I like what I've seen of Chicago. I'd go to an F2F there. Can we ride the big Ferris wheel? *bounce*

Baby, you can ride whatever you like in Chicago.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

You can see a U-boat here, and the Sunday in the Park with George painting (as well as American Gothic and Hopper's Nighthawks), and some of the best architecture in the world, and hang out at the lakefront!

I definitely vote for a return F2F in Chicago, if you haven't noticed.
