Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Can the kid go in the mail yet?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Nah - too squirmy.

Joe wants a weekend off. Can't say as I blame him.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I will be in Chicago (actually in Evanston) this weekend at a family reunion but don't think I will be allowed to associate with anyone I am not related to. If we manage to schedule any time to escape (which seesm unlikely, given the many meals and events planned for the 40 of us), I will post here, so maybe I can do an impromptu meet with any free Chicagoistas.

Sorry for the lameness of my invitation!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I get into Chicago around noon on Saturday, July 28th.

Woot!! So, umm, have we decided where the dinner/drinks will occur on Saturday? vw, it's your birthday, any kind of special food you want?

Sorry for the lameness of my invitation!

Not lame, realistic. I understand the DNA-responsibilities. You go, have fun with the family, while we pout and sniffle that you're oh so close and yet so far.

Mostly lurking...

My birthday's actually Wednesday, and a bunch of us are getting together then too. I guess we should get the planning going on that as well. I was gonna ask you guys to recommend a good place that would be easy for everyone to get to, have a bar to hang out in, be fairly reasonable, etc. Anyone got any suggestions? I was actually craving some deep dish pizza last night, but we don't have to do that. I can do that with my brother this weekend.

Anne, are you staying at the same hotel as szandara and them? We should try to keep them in the loop on this planning as well.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It looks like I am actually going to be able to attend the gathering on the 23rd. TCG has a meeting, but I am going to go with Victor and Lea.
