And it's not really near the convention center at all, but if you want to see a little more of the city, take the streetcar up St. Charles, get off at the stop right after it turns onto Carrollton, and go the Camellia Grill. Get either an omelette or a burger, and a slice of pecan pie for dessert.

Yes, but it's also an air conditioned way to walk a good chunk of the distance to the Quarter from the Convention Center.
Another alternative way to get to the Quarter from the Convention Center is the streetcar line that runs along the river. There's a stop right behind the CC.

I'm just freaked out that their could be bad food in New Orleans. Isn't all the food wonderful?
I'm not sure I've had bad food. But I have had stuff that was no better than what you'd find at Chili's or whatever (I'm looking at you Bubba Gump).
