Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

ChiKat, that sounds likea winner! I thought your new sofa looked quite comfortable. What I look forward to is the cat foot warmer, I don't know what I'd do without one.

Yay! And, I'm sure Mickey will be glad to serve as foot warmer. He's good at that.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

For a pricey but incredibly good brunch, I'd recommend Brennan's. And if you go there, you must try the brandy milk punch. Personally, I think that Court of Two Sisters is kind of overrated -- I've been there a few times, and the food was good, but I didn't think it was anything spectacular.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Oh! And it's not really near the convention center at all, but if you want to see a little more of the city, take the streetcar up St. Charles, get off at the stop right after it turns onto Carrollton, and go the Camellia Grill. Get either an omelette or a burger, and a slice of pecan pie for dessert.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

There's a branch of the Cafe du Monde in the adjacent mall

The Riverwalk. Which has always been an odd mall.

But it's got a Foot Locker where I got my lucky Saints underwear.

Cafe du Monde is the only place that has ever gotten my iced coffee right on the first try.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The Riverwalk. Which has always been an odd mall.

Yes, but it's also an air conditioned way to walk a good chunk of the distance to the Quarter from the Convention Center.

Another alternative way to get to the Quarter from the Convention Center is the streetcar line that runs along the river. There's a stop right behind the CC.

I'll third Mulates. Terrific food and Abita on tap.

I'm just freaked out that their could be bad food in New Orleans. Isn't all the food wonderful?

I'm not sure I've had bad food. But I have had stuff that was no better than what you'd find at Chili's or whatever (I'm looking at you Bubba Gump).
