Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Isn't the Dells within a (relatively) short drive north of Madison?

Yes.

The Dells are insanely busy in the summer - I've actually been stuck in a traffic jam on the highway North of Madison because of all the traffic heading towards the Dells. But I think it wouldn't be as bad in the spring when we usually F2F.

Can you imagine Jilli in her full Jilliness, ND in his utilikilt, and the rest of the Buffistas in various garbs of corsets, silver pleather, and other Buffista-wear descending on Paul Bunyan's pancake house? What a blast that would be!

Thrive to spite them

Kathy, I was imagining all of that at Dollywood. I'm sure Dolly would be impressed and enjoy the hell out of it but I'm sure we'd freak everyone else out.

Same goes for Buffistas in Branson.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We should do Lawrence, Kansas!

Sure, it's Buffista free, as far as I know, but aside from the vague fannish interest I have in the place, a friend of Jilli's who lives there made it sound actually kind of nifty.

The only thing I know about Lawrence, KS, was that it was where all the big stuff happened in The Day After.

I now know that it's a college town, with a good Ren Faire.

They've seen bigger spectacles than us. Dollywood has its annual Out at the Park day as part of East Tennessee Pride Week in early June—imagine Gay Day at a Disneyworld owned by Liza Minelli.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I would be happy with any of these choices. Well, maybe less so Branson MO.

Nashville wouldn't be my first choice, but that's only because I'm from there, and I'd like to see cities I haven't seen before. And I haven't been there in fifteen years except for one quick visit, so I wouldn't be much good as a tour guide. Except that if we do go there, I'm dragging everyone with me to see the Parthenon. The Athena statue is finished and I haven't seen it complete!

I've been to Chicago, but that was for business. I wouldn't mind going back as a tourist. Everyone I know who's ever lived in Madison WI has loved it.

Mostly lurking...

We should do Lawrence, Kansas!

Lawrence is VERY fun, and my SIL is an event planner there and could probably help, if we wanted to do that.
