Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I want it on the record that The Dells was a completely facetious suggestion based on a recent MST viewing.

I was completely serious about Attica though.

Isn't the Dells within a (relatively) short drive north of Madison? Maybe if anyone sticks around an extra day after the F2F, we can have a road trip up there, just to see the tackiness that is The Dells.

I'd love it if it was in Madison, as well!

Ann, that's a ferret.

I assumed the Dells wasn't meant seriously. The one advantage would be the opportunity to shock the mundanes, which I so rarely get to do these days.

(ETA: Kathy, it's about an hour or so north of Madison. My family spent a lot of time camping near Portage, which is even closer to the Dells, when I was a kid. We only went to the Dells once, though, because my parents had no tolerance for overpriced tourist traps.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yes.

The Dells are insanely busy in the summer - I've actually been stuck in a traffic jam on the highway North of Madison because of all the traffic heading towards the Dells. But I think it wouldn't be as bad in the spring when we usually F2F.

Can you imagine Jilli in her full Jilliness, ND in his utilikilt, and the rest of the Buffistas in various garbs of corsets, silver pleather, and other Buffista-wear descending on Paul Bunyan's pancake house? What a blast that would be!

Thrive to spite them

Kathy, I was imagining all of that at Dollywood. I'm sure Dolly would be impressed and enjoy the hell out of it but I'm sure we'd freak everyone else out.

Same goes for Buffistas in Branson.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We should do Lawrence, Kansas!

Sure, it's Buffista free, as far as I know, but aside from the vague fannish interest I have in the place, a friend of Jilli's who lives there made it sound actually kind of nifty.

The only thing I know about Lawrence, KS, was that it was where all the big stuff happened in The Day After.

I now know that it's a college town, with a good Ren Faire.

They've seen bigger spectacles than us. Dollywood has its annual Out at the Park day as part of East Tennessee Pride Week in early June—imagine Gay Day at a Disneyworld owned by Liza Minelli.
