You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I say this every F2F, but holy CRAP smonster and Kate P are hot.

Hell, we Buffistas are very, very pretty.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

DAMN! Okay, between Smonster's tummy and Vortex's breasts, prom has killed me with hot.

And Matt's got his shiny on! Yay! Sparky's very pretty, but we knew that. Sail, I keep thinking is amych. This can only be a good thing.

Who's Bowler Dude?

I feel so out of touch! I haven't been to a F2F since F2F 2.0!

Brenda's so slinky! Theo's so pretty! Kate P's so stunning! Other people are attractive, yet have no names, so I cannot call them out!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Bowler Dude is Frankenbuddha. The bowler was a character in its own right. There will be pictures.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Dresses Made of AWESOME:

  • smonster's cheongsam (HOTTTT)

  • Kate P's slinky black number with the red detail (hubba hubba)

  • Theo's shimmery number with the sexy neckline (yowza)

  • Brenda's slinky dress which was actually made not of awesome but MADE OF SEXXX (and which matched smonster's first bedlah, I noticed)

  • Zenkitty's fun dress that highlights her cleavage in a totally VA-VA-VA-VOOM way

Though not in a dress, Matt is looking FOINE.

Vortex's boobs are mesmerizing. As are her eyes. And, well, all of her. But especially her boobs.

Sail's boa added all kinds of sass and sex to her hot little black dress -- yum!

Laura looks sooooo lovely in her flowered dress (and apparently Brendan thinks so, too!)

-t also looks radiantly lovely in her flowered dress.

Sparky is oh-so-pretty in pink.

Dude, I so envy Hil's gorgeous hair.

LOVE Bev's drape-y scarf -- that blue just lights her up.

And Katie Bee also looks all lit up and radiant. (Was it a good anniversary celebration?)

I totally want Zenkitty's dress.

Ginger, Trudy, and askye have new-to-me hair, and I think they all look fabulous (even though I keep thinking that askye is vw).

Aileann is SO pretty with her shiny shiny hair and perfect skin!

tommyrot should add some sassy high heels to his outfit next time he cross-dresses....

I love the pictures of bicyclops rocking out.

Oh, and I adored cowgirl!bellydance.

And I am in no way jealous, nuh uh, no way, no how, nope nope nope.

Yeah, I lie.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Zen and Frank did a wonderful dance with the bowler and Ailleann's black feather boa. Smonster and -t's hot pink feather boa and Vortex, Kate P., and really, several people in range, and Ellen and her red feather boa and Kate P and also targets in range--woo! Hotness as only personified by dancing Buffistas.

Smonster favored us with not one, not two, but three belly dance routines. She even instructed us on how to offer vocal encouragement, teaching us the high-pitched ululating cry, and iawa! yalla!, and yalla habibe! as calls of appreciation and encouragement.

Of course, when she started dancing again, we were all struck dumb. I knew one of the calls sounded like the name of a state, but the only one I could think of was Ohio!, and that just didn't sound right. So she danced to enthralled silence and there was thunderous applause and much ululation when each number finished.

After her third number, complete with cowboy hat and zills, danced to Corb Lund, smonster to went off for her second wardrobe change, this time into a gorgeous blue cheong sam. Brenda was rocking a 30's style black slink inset with heavy white satin, and Kate P. accessorized her long black sheath, with cutaways to a scarlet reveal of a floral design, with red thigh-highs and black biker boots. What? She totally rocked the look! Laura was resplendent in a floaty spring floral, Ailleen was in a top of black mesh and lace over slate blue taffeta worn with black evening pants, and Vortex's legendary corset (the one from the DC F2F) was even wickeder hot under a satin-edged tuxedo jacket with peplum and a satin-piped trumpet skirt.

Theo's regal gold and black number, Sail's flirty tiered ruffled black and Zenkitty's black and white graphic dress, all the feather boas, plus a dragon-printed top Zen wore to the hospitality suite later on, were all thrifting prizes. Tiaras were lent, borrowed, worn, discarded as mere fillips, unnecessary for Buffista-Bitch splendor.

Katie wore the purple damask dress that sets off her hair so beautifully, Ginger was all in black, with a long-sleeved top edged in ruffles and inset with damask panels. Trudy was in short sparkly black, Sparky wore black pants and a pink lace top, Askye wore a spaghetti-strap top over a floaty print skirt with sexy slits and a handkerchief hemline. Tommyrot was distinguished in black, Frankenbuddha was in low-key black and slate grey, but the bowler told the tale of wit and fire beneath the monochrome camouflage, and Matt was pettable all over in black velvet pants and a printed velvet shirt in flame colors and black. Brendan was resplendent in a yellow polo, and bicyclops went for wry in a must-read black shirt over shorts.

We are all so very, very pretty.

I will let someone else tell the tale of the purple pantsuit, but I must relate that when "Carry on My Wayward Son" came on the sound system (thoughtfully supplied by bicyclops, the music supplied by various Buffistas' iPods), there was a rush to the dance floor, and all the Supernatural fans sang along lustily while dancing their little feet off. Shook the rafters, they did. Made me smile.

Right now we're at Ginger's, nattering, as we do. There's Theo and Matt, Ailleann and Vortex, Katie and Sail and Ginger and me. Talk is low-key, as some of us may be tending napward. Hil, Trudy, Askye and maybe one or two others may still be at the hotel. Brenda, Sparky and Tommyrot have already left for the airport, and Zenkitty, smonster, KateP and Frankenbuddha left this morning. The winding down is bittersweet, as beloveds slip away.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awww, Bev, thanks for the perfect prom recap. I neglected to mention your utter cute-itude with the tiara. So that was bicyclops rocking out, eh? The names and faces are coming together.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Of course, when she started dancing again, we were all struck dumb. I knew one of the calls sounded like the name of a state, but the only one I could think of was Ohio!, and that just didn't sound right.

Iowa!

(although not spelled that way.)

Unrelatedly, Medicine!

(maybe two people will get that joke)

eta: and, to be fair (or spread the blame), I was not the only dude who was cross-dressing. And besides, it wasn't a dress....

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

No, it was sort of like Indonesian rompers!

We made out like queens at that thrift store! That dress cost me $15, which is surely going to be a contender for the bargain of the year. (Even if that includes my red velveteen jacket!)
