I posted this to the DCistas, but if any locals are interested in making a trip to Baltimore on Sunday to check out the Charm City Roller Girls and lisah's band, my DH and I are planning to drive up -- my profile addy is good.

Also, in terms of DVD/CD stuff, do we need anything brought in specific?

If anyone is interested, I would be happy to preach the Good Word of Supernatural.

This may not be what Frank meant, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I was worried for a hot second about our hotel room yesterday, because I hadn't gotten a confirmation email. But everything is kosher.

I'd be happy to bring my dvd player, it's multiformat so if you have avi files of some kind on disc (vids or what have you) that you want to share it will play those.

Right now I'm assuming the hospitality suite will have a tv. Are we having a hospitality suite?

There is a hospitality suite and it has a TV, but the rooms are small.

Damn, I'm actually going back up to Columbia, MD on Sunday, but I'm staying with friends and need to get going early Monday (and Sunday, honestly).

Damn

Damn, indeed. Doors open at 6 p.m., and lisah's band is playing that first 1/2 hour, because matches start at 6:30. We'll have to drive back, and I'll have to go to work the next day, so it we won't engage in too much debauchery (but much fun).

I can bring either a boombox w/ a 5 CD changer or some portable speakers and a 5 CD carousel changer. The advantage to the second option is, if anyone wants to bring an iPod or other portable player, we can plug that into the speakers (I don't think the boombox has any input capability.) I don't know how big the room is and how much noise leakage we'll have from the rest of Manuel's - if we need more powerful sound (an amp & some bigger speakers), I can set that up. I've got a small portable DVD player. I don't think it has the multiformat capabilities that askye's has. I'll make sure we have whatever cables and connecters we need to hook up all the audio/video stuff.

I'll bring the OMWF DVD and soundtrack CD. I can bring some older "classic rock" music, but if we want dance/party/fun music from the last couple of decades, someone else needs to bring it. If anyone wants to volunteer to be the DJ for prom, speak up now. Otherwise, we'll need folks to bring CDs, iPods, laptops with tunes, etc., and we'll mix it up.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Fabulous! If there are noise issues, we have doors we can close.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I have an iPod and I have a fair amount of dance/party/fun music. You will all shake your tushes and despair. Kidding. I have no idea how to handle this... Someone could create a playlist on their iPod, taking some suggestions (and yes, I remember what happened last year when ND took requests, anyone got a better idea?). Or people who wanted to could bring party mixes on cds and we just hit "shuffle all" on the changer, assuming that option exists.

I'm confused... are people talking about playing DVDs at Manuel's or just in the hospitality suite?

I was just talking about the hospitality suite in case anyone wanted to watch/pimp some shows or vids.
