Of course you're going to make the F2F, Sparky.

It's 4-5 hours to Savannah. AirTran does occasionally have very cheap flights.

Ginger also added, when I asked, that it was a very boring drive, so I'm hoping to fly. What I really need to do is talk to the organizer for the Savannah boondoggle to see if they have a problem paying for something other than a RT ticket. Trouble is, the organizer is a dimwit so I'm avoiding the question.

Off to write her an email, now.

Very boring. Much of I-16 goes through pine plantations. It's mile after mile of precisely planted pine trees. It's also below the fall line, so it's as flat as Kansas.

Matt that would be great! I sent you an email to your profile addy.

It hasn't arrived yet... could you resend, just in case it got lost in the internets somewhere?

Hmmm. A friend suggested an interesting route back to Baltimore, though it sounds like it would involve a detour and take all day (like 14 hours or so with Atlanta being the starting point). Anyone ever driven the Blue Ridge Parkway the whole distance?

I've driven it, but it was years and years ago. I just remember it was pretty.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Anyone ever driven the Blue Ridge Parkway the whole distance?

It's gorgeous. But twisty. Definitely slower than the interstate, but worth it if you've got the time.

Wonderful ride. Make sure the brakes are good.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

We drive the Parkway lots. And lots and lots, because we loves it so. But never the whole way. I'd think that would be tiring, and scenic overload. Parts, though, it's well worth a run up for a few hours, if you can find a faster, flatter parallel route not too difficult to get to.
