Great page, Laura.
One thought for some point in April -- driving directions to the hotel, for driving non-localistas.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.
Great page, Laura.

I'm sorry, but I was already working on a page. I got delayed by the cold from hell. Here it is:
I'm planning to keep adding things like local driving directions and nearby restaurants.
That's great, Ginger. Very pretty! I just put a bunch of stuff from the thread over last year's page. Doesn't matter to me. I just figured you had enough on your list. (and I did the last 5)

Hmmm...I'm thinking we should drag Jon to our side of the hill since most of the people who have spoken up live over here...
And yes YES on Tuesday! Robin would be extra special bonus icing on the cupcake that is Jon.
Um. Or something like that.
ETA: P-C, I'm busy all day (grading...feh) and all night (sleep study) on the 24th. Sorry!
If there\'s licking of the icing then I\'m all for it!

What! I sense lameness. Boo-urns.
Laura, I'm only doing it because it's easier for me to just type onto the page than to tell someone else. It's a symptom of being a Bad Delegator. I've always really liked your pages.
The symbol of Atlanta is the Phoenix (rising from the ashes, as seen in Gone with the Wind), and I'm hoping someone can work that into a graphic for this F2F. Actually, the graphic could be anything, but Atlanta doesn't really have a distinctive skyline, and I hate to fall back on the omnipresent Georgia peach.
We do need to talk about the prom and get some volunteers for things.
If we have the prom at the hotel, it will cost about $1,200 plus food plus liquor. I've lined up a licensed bartender, if we go that way. That will make the prom $50+ per person, depending on how many people are coming. That's high, but the rooms are cheap, which is the trade-off.
I checked into using Manuel's meeting room. The room is free and they sell some fairly reasonable appetizer platters, but the drinks would have to be at bar prices from a Manuel's bartender. Also, it's not a room you can entirely shut off from the rest of the bar, so it would be hard to have our own music.
I have another possible option, but it's about 3/4 mile away, and I don't know that people will want to be walking in the middle of the night. It's a pretty safe neighborhood, but it has terrible sidewalks.
Can I get some people to volunteer to be on a committee or the F2F Secret Cabal or something? I'd like to have different people in charge of different areas, such as the hospitality suite, if that sounds like a good idea to y'all. Also, can someone volunteer to keep track of who is coming and their contact information, and put it into a table or something?
Also, that's so cool, Jon.
Ginger, I think you've got a date wrong on the information. It says that the hotel may not have Buffistas until Monday. May 19.
It seems the best option to do the prom at the hotel. Convenient and all that. I'll either be driving, or renting a car so I could help transport people, but being able to pop back to the room for down time during prom is a plus.
I can keep track of the contact info.
Oops. Thanks, askye. It's fixed. Most of my brain is still filled with cold viruses.
The prom would be very much do-it-yourself at the hotel. We can add the extra-special Buffista event of decorating the prom room on Saturday.
Thanks, Laura! Profile address good?
