You are going to three corners of the area. There really is no good location for you to stay. The W in westwood would be okay for long beach but you have a long drive to both riverside and pasadena. Depending on time of day even Long Beach might be bad. Stay t The Ritz in Pasadena.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.
Vortex, Westwood isn't really near Pasadena or Long Beach and it'll make you take the 10 to the 110 to Pasadena and the dreaded 405 south to Long Beach -- Westwood is sorta west and north of either of those two places. Riverside is well.... Riverside and far away from everything and traffic-y no matter where you stay. LA traffic is freaky and stupid and unpredictable.
ND is right, the Ritz in Pasadena is probably better and less drive-y
You'd at least be near one of your locations.
And near us! Which would make me happy.
In more practical terms, I can also give you pretty accurate info about what the traffic is likely to be at different times of the day from Pasadena to various other locations. It is nice to be able to travel two different directions (110/10 or 134/101/405), though both routes suck during rush hour. But hey, you're from DC. You know the drill.
Brenda: Don't eat dinner before you get on the plane.
Thanks for the heads-up!
And don't you fill up on dessert.
PIE?

Fay, there was once a man, a piano player, but I'm not talking about it. And I'm sorry no one pointed you at mojitos; I understand the ones at Havana, in San Jose, are evilly good.
Who's coming to this signing in Cambridge Friday night? To the costume party Saturday night?
