F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.
I'm not seriously pimping any of them, Tom. I was just putting the info out there in case anyone wants to run with it.

For whatever it's worth, this was one of the single biggest stumbling blocks I encountered when looking for NYC hotels. Agreeing to be without internet access for three days would open up our options considerably.
I don't think y'all are gonna want to be in Saugus. Really.
Although rt. 1 (and KOWLOON!) do have their ironic charms.... I would, um. Not recommend.
Burlington: Mall land. Huge mall, strip malls, busy roads connecting them, and they are correct to say it's right off 128.
Where's the residence Inn?
I'm not trying to squash anything, just adding my reactions/ POV.
Saugus and Burlington are not really all about the proximity to public transportation, either.
Just wanted to stress again that I'm not trying to challenge the info that Kristin came up with to start us off with... I know you aren't seriously pimping anything, Kristin. And I know that I'm not being productive in any way except adding negativity...
Nora, no worries. Like I said, I suspected that these might be unsavory and/or not in a great area. The problem is that we have a $100/night cap, and Boston and NYC are not going to happen directly in the city for that price. I literally had thrown a request out to area hotels just to see who would bite and figured we could use that information to determine 1) if any of them sounded appealing and 2) if we needed to reconsider the money limitation if we're really looking at the Northeast.
No horses in the race, really. Unless the F2F happens to fall during my spring break in late March/early April or after June 15th, I'm not likely to be able to go anyway.
Kristin -- is your profile e-mail addy good? Or is there another I should use?
Profile addy should be fine. Is it ktaylor9 AT mac DOT com?
Yes, ma'am, it is.
Insent shortly.
Hey, guys. Funny this should come up. I was just trying to figure out how to address why there has been nothing about Boston.
I am swamped right now, and while I have had the best of intentions to get out an RFP to meetingplanner.com, I just haven't been able to squeeze it in.
I would love to see the F2F in Boston. I've pimped many reasons why I think Boston would be a great choice. I also think we can find a reasonable hotel. I really, really do. Even in the heart of Boston, which is where I personally think it should be held. I'm just not going to be able to be the person to pitch and (if it's chosen) then plan the F2F. I just can't do this half-assed, which is what it would be if I tried to squeeze one more thing on my plate right now.
I feel so much like I'm letting everyone down, but I'm trying to avoid later, bigger let-down.
Kristin, thanks for looking into some Boston-area hotels. If you'd like to take the bull by the horns here, you may want to just submit one RFP to this site: [link] It'll probably be the most helpful.
And, if it does turn out to be in Boston, I'd love to help in whatever way I can. I just can't lead this search/planning.
