Hey, guys. Funny this should come up. I was just trying to figure out how to address why there has been nothing about Boston.
I am swamped right now, and while I have had the best of intentions to get out an RFP to meetingplanner.com, I just haven't been able to squeeze it in.
I would love to see the F2F in Boston. I've pimped many reasons why I think Boston would be a great choice. I also think we can find a reasonable hotel. I really, really do. Even in the heart of Boston, which is where I personally think it should be held. I'm just not going to be able to be the person to pitch and (if it's chosen) then plan the F2F. I just can't do this half-assed, which is what it would be if I tried to squeeze one more thing on my plate right now.
I feel so much like I'm letting everyone down, but I'm trying to avoid later, bigger let-down.
Kristin, thanks for looking into some Boston-area hotels. If you'd like to take the bull by the horns here, you may want to just submit one RFP to this site: [link] It'll probably be the most helpful.
And, if it does turn out to be in Boston, I'd love to help in whatever way I can. I just can't lead this search/planning.

Don't sweat it, at least you gave it a shot.
For what it's worth, my schedule for next year is getting progressively crazier, and right now it appears there's at least two entire weeks in our time frame where I'd be hard-pressed to attend even if it was in the middle of Worcester.
So I'm gonna assume I'm (once again) not able to make it. And maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
How many rooms did we end up using in San Francisco?
I'm hoping that's the kind of info on the form - anyone have it handy?
Here we are with energy and no information!
Also, I can't find archived F2F 2 and 3 threads. Possibly I am being stupid.
They're not archived, just in closed threads.
Thanks, Aimee. Here's a prelimimary pimpage for Durham, NC, in my LJ. [link] I'll plan to edit and update as I gather information.
I'll try to talk to hotels/the convention bureau tomorrow, when I hope we'll have some numbers for a RFP.
