a constant reminder I need to visit again.)
You really do.
Oh yeah. SF is calling to me a bit. Not as bad as SoCal, which is pretty much in my blood, but I really want to go out and spend quality time. And there's a reading Thessaly and I have a standing invite to read at -- Writers With Drinks -- if we can give the host enough notice.
That would be really cool. Especially if we actually get to go in to the poetry reading.
Yeah, that was pretty much a disaster (although it sounded like you guys had fun with Ben and Steve. Who are pretty fun under any circumstances). And I barely saw anyone at my Berkeley reading because we blew a tire in Central California, and were massively late.
At least the one you came to at Carlye's house went well. Otherwise, I'd have a complex.

Except for the part where we got to see you, right?

Oh, we really did, and I wouldn't call it a disaster at all. We got to spend time with you, and meet new people, and it was fun.

Oh, the disaster was Lee and Aimee not being able to get into my reading in Venice (the one with Viggo Mortenson and Saul Williams and, uhm, me. Guess who was the low man on that bill?) I put them in the capable hands of two friends who also couldn't get in -- I heard there was a bar with hookahs involved -- and then connected later.
Seeing you and JZ and everyone in SF was wonderful, but I wanted to spend more time. Stupid tire. I think next time I'm going to try to spend like three days, at least.

That's good. The whole thing was SO insane, you pretty much had to laugh.
(Saul Williams' groupies stole liquor from the Green Room, so I felt mildly, pettily vindicated. And Viggo gave up his seat so one more person could get in. The whole thing was nuts.)
Yeah, that was pretty much a disasterObviously I chose well when I went to another reading on that visit. Twas fun.
