Nora! I was just about to e-mail you and let you know we'd started. Gotta get Salem in there!

I am procrastination girl this morning. DebetEsse posted this towards the end of June last year. Sounds like a good starting point to me (changed, of course, to be applicable to this year).

F2F 2007: East Coast 2.0

Things we need to decide:

When? (I've heard talk of "maybe a little later?", but, just for fun, I threw in some earlier dates as well) suggested possible weekends (defined by Staurday): April 21nd, 28th, May 5th, 12th, 19th, May 26, June 2nd, 9th, June 16, June 23, June 30.

Where? (All nominations should have a contact person (preferably local))

Where 2? Hotel/Prom location (I think we need to set a strong preference for under $100 from the get-go, possibly to the point of not presenting anything with a minimum higher than that to the group[?])

When is it going to start being reasonable to expect people to have some idea of time availability, especially wrt school schedules?

The weekend chosen will make a big difference in hotel pricing and availability in this area, I'm thinking.

I totally agree. I almost put something in there about, if people are seriously considering the Boston area, we may really want to consider a June weekend. There's just so many graduations, and the hotels eat that up.

Or April. As long as it's not Patriots Day/Boston Marathon weekend. Though Patriots Day weekend wouldn't likely screw up hotel stuff in Salem, it will potentally make logistic stuff slightly nutty. Though, B2B in San Francisco did OK by us, so...

just thinking out loud while I decide on my next topic for my case study analysis paper.

Yeah, that's a good point. Although, weather can be a bit more unpredictable in April...although, this year, that was more like May, so nevermind.

Yes, my many springs in New England has taught me that the weather can suck total ass regardless of the month.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Another thing to keep in mind re. dates/places is that if we're looking at places south of DC, for example, the earlier the better WRT weather.

Thanks for clearing up the East Coast vs. Midwest thing a bit. I know that St. Louis is right out, but I was fuzzy on the status of places such as Nashville, etc.

I'd pimp Atlanta for April. By May, it's getting too damn hot. In April, there might still be dogwoods and azaleas blooming. Atlanta is very much a car city, but if I could find a good deal near a MARTA station, it would be simple for people to get there from the airport and to most of the things people would want to see including the aquarium, CNN, World of Coca-Cola, MLK Historic District and the High Museum.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'd definitely be interested in Atlanta (for an earlier weekend). I'd really like to visit more southern U.S. cities.
