I know KateP wants to pimp Northampton, MA, as well. (And since I luvre that little quirky city more than I can say, Ima bring it up now).

Also...can of worms...I would like to plead that we at least consider late June instead of late May. I honestly don't think I'll be able to go to this F2F if it's in May, so I'll admit selfish motives.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

for Boston-area stuff, there's a conflict between late May (graduations galore, huge demand for hotels) and late June (start of sumemr tourist season. It does depend on the region, but I'd wager Boston/Cambridge and Northampton would be definitely impacted by graduations, due to the huge concentration of schools and students. Not sure about Salem. Ima check when Salem State graduation is.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Would mid-April be better for teachers/students, or is anything during the school year going to be just as bad as late May?

Third week in June is what I'd propose. Right before the tourist season but after most of the graduations.

ETA: Jessica, basically for me, unless I'm on vacation (next year that will be the last week in March and the first week in April), any time before school gets out is deadly.

It's not all about me, obviously, but it is true that it's generally very difficult for any teacher/student to take days off of work/school because of the reprucussions from the school.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

But for those of us still in school, late June is already after summer jobs have started, and there's generally no way to take time off from those. Late May is generally after classes have ended, but before summer stuff starts. Early June might work better.

Early June is exams for me and the very end of school for anyone in a K-12 situation. Maybe mid-June? Second weekend?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I already know that I won't be able to attend next year because I shall be a poor, unemployed student teacher next spring. So, have it whenever. I will be home crying.

I vote that we hold the F2F in a stasis bubble that will allow everyone to take as much time off as they want without losing any time in the outside world.
