We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

She doesn't think of it as work.

She will by the end, I bet. At least I know that I felt very strongly that I was caring for my children while I carried them in my womb.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And here I thought JZ was doing the actual work.

Well, I'm doing all the actual construction work from here on in, but he was certainly a valued contributor at the start of the project.

Plus, there's the cooking, dishes doing, grocery shopping, laundry doing and miscellaneous errand running which he's now just about entirely responsible for (well, okay, he always did the cooking), all of which frees me up for doing the actual work without going into a coma.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is there a summary of plans?

Let's see...

Thursday - people are arriving. Nothing in particular planned except hanging out at the HS.

Friday - More people arriving. Some people are going to Alcatraz that evening, though most are not.

Saturday - cartoons in the morning at the HS, followed by Pooh readings. Then many people are going thrifting in Valencia from say 1-4. Tentative plans to start watching vids like Scoobie Road at 4pm. After that folks drift off in various groupings for dinner. Then they return to primp for Prom. Then Prom.

Sunday - Some people are going to the A's game, though not many. Deb's BBQ starts 11ish (is that right?) and runs open-house style for most of the day and probably into the evening. Some people might be doing the Arts and Crafts exhibit at the De Young on Sunday morning. Or perhaps some other time.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Saturday morning, there's an expedition to the Winchester House planned by some people, most of whom are the types who wake up early.

Monday morning, also an expedition to the Monterey Bay Aquarium which will take most of the day because of the distance.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Well, I'm doing all the actual construction work from here on in, but he was certainly a valued contributor at the start of the project.

"Having" as in, "producing". Contractions. Some bloody idiot patting your hand and telling you to breathe (memo to bloody idiot: lacking gills, breathing is, in my case, involuntary). IOW, getting the kid from in to out.

Having. Not the possessive sense; I mean the active verb, not the passive.

I'm heading into the suite early on Thursday - thus beginneth the big round of airport running - and would seriously love to have someone there in the afternoon, while I'm at the airport. I'll have a master key card to the suite, which I could leave with you, beth.

Not enough mojitos? Oh, noes! What are we going to do?

Send for more!

Can you tell I'm getting giddy? Wheeeeee.....

Thrive to spite them

Will someone be recording the Pooh readings for the enjoyment for those unlucky souls who won't be at the F2F?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Which is fair enough, and I see that you're reflecting upon your own experience of the whole childbirth thing (and I'm terribly fond of the statement that there's some tribe somewhere that makes the father go through the childbirth too, by tying a string to his John Thomas very tightly, and giving the mother the other end of the string to yank viciously at will during her pains) - but David's original statement was "I'll have a baby by then," rather than "I'll have had a baby by then." And he will. Which is lovely, but probably still a bit of a mind-boggler. (And JZ made me laugh out loud with her assessment of Project Zmaybe, and David's input.)
