Mal: Zoe, why do I have a wife? Jayne: You got a wife? All I got is that dumbass stick sounds like its raining. How come you got a wife?

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the WGA strike, but Axium payroll services is closing all of its offices:

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yeah, I get it. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't really care about the clothes and I kind of enjoy some of the montages and the nervous, rambly acceptance speeches. To me that's the part that celebrates the art and the people who make it.

I do too. Do you think it is a coincidence that we all work in theatre?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yup, me too. And I don't work in theatre now, but I did.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Kristen, are you sure that it is just 2 days? Because I think I am on day 4 and he has yet to hit his thesis. I think I understand his discursive style in speaking and the point of it, but he shows his love of Kierkegaard on his sleeve and in his presentation style.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Murder, Unscripted

... put together by the L&O actors (I think most of them are from Criminal Intent, which I never watched.) It's hysterical.

"Her mom did it!"

"A killer."
"A killer?"
"A homicidal killer."
"You usually say more."
"Do I?"

Heee!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

So, what is the situation with writers like John Oliver?

Last night on the Daily Show, he did a short bit with Jon Stewart where he said that, while he is a member of the WGA, his work visa prohibits him from striking (with the penalty being deportation). What a bind!

Kristen, are you sure that it is just 2 days?

HA! I thought it was two days but maybe it was more.

I haven't watched it yet but Milch is, for me, sometimes hard to follow when he speaks about writing. When he's telling stories, he's just hilarious and profane.

ETA: Last night was the first time I'd heard about the John Oliver situation but Vortex's explanation makes sense.
