Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Speaking of supporting the crew affected by the strike, I dug this bit from the cast and writers of SNL:

The “SNL” cast and writers collaborated on staging the special “Saturday Night Live — On Strike!” event at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre to benefit the behind-the-scenes staff affected by the strike. The live performance was not officially sanctioned by NBC, but “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels, who celebrated his 63rd birthday, did attend.

Oh, I LOVE that! Can I borrow it for a piece I'm writing?

hah! of course! My inability to do things that require concentration and fine motor control should do some good in this world.

Funny story from the picket line...

Today was the big Assistants Picket at Fox. When I first heard about it, I thought, "wouldn't it be nice if we, the writers, brought the assistants lunch that day?" I suggested it to some WGA people and they liked it. We put the word out that people could contact me if they wanted to contribute. My inbox quickly filled with contributions and promises of contributions.

Fast forward to today. I'm out there and I run into one of the writers I worked with on Drive. I thanked him for the generous donation he had made. Then he said, "You know, I read your friend Allyson's book. So when I got the email I had no qualms about donating. I figured, these people know paypal. They know how to do this."

Made me laugh.

Hah! Now how can I use Allyson's reputation to benefit me?

I must mull.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ha! But you know what, it's very true.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

What a great story!
