It'd be okay if she'd just play with the yarn, but she insists upon playing the the hook. And it's difficult to crochet with a cat hanging off of your hook.

And someone was talking about purple baby yarn? I've seen quite a bit, actually. Purple is the main color I've crocheted for the nephew. Maybe I'm not using typical "baby" yarn, but there's really a lot you can use for babies. And I typically use 100% cotton. But, there's also the Debbie Bliss stuff, and I know there's purple with that...a couple shades, actually.

I've seen a lot of purple baby yarn, too, but it's usually a fairly pale purple (not lavendar, just pale purple), and often has a shiny white thread running through it.
