Dunno if it's been covered, but the 30 Rock people are going to do a live episode in a theatre to help raise money. They're making it up as they go along.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
I read about that. It sounds awesome. It's sold out, of course.
I think the WGA has asked people not to watch reruns and replacement programming like the rush-job reality shows we'll be seeing.
I'm on board for the latter (it'll be such a sacrifice to pass on Watch the Obese Guy Annoy People or whatever reality program Fox comes up with next), but I'll be watching reruns of shows I didn't catch in first run, and not feeling the slightest bit guilty about it.

Hello, My name is [REDACTED]….I am a [REDACTED]. I am also a capable writer. I watched the strike in person and those people aren’t funny. I currently make $300-$500 a day so pay would have to be in that range….My wife has her masters degree so that means I’m smart!!!
P-C, apparently there will be a small number of tickets available to buy from the box office on the day.
True. But I am not in New York.

Just to clarify. I don't think the WGA is asking anyone to not do anything. Legally, I don't think we're allowed to. I know that some supporters of the writers have been discussing things along those lines. I have no idea what effect they would have, if any.
Oops. Got it, Kristen.
Can you link to the discussions? I would like to hear from the writers (speaking for themselves, not for WGA) as to what they would be most effective.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the evening. He came out onstage, started reading from some 3x5 index cards and halfway through the sentence, "Last night I was just thinking..." he stopped and looked really confused. He turned the card over. Checked his pockets. And then shouted into the wings his card was blank and he didn't know what to say next. Out walked a red shirted writer carrying a WGA strike sign and the whole place errupted into applause. Neil Patrick tried to carry on, calling on some dancers to vamp as he tried to come up with some material. I wish I had my camera at the ready. It was priceless. Keep your eyes peeled! Hopefully something will show up on YouTube or Flickr!
Was this from the Ovation awards here in LA the other night? I was there for that.
Or, I should say, I was late, and missed the opening, so I would have missed that bit. But NPH was wonderful and funny. And the dancers were WEIRD. They danced every award over to the presenters, in a very bizarre, skipping step, where their legs never crossed in normal walking fashion.
I liked the whole thing, except for the dancers.
