It's just a completely different car, Polter-Cow. It's not explained. I presume it's there for special effects reasons, or something.
What gets me is people on the FOX forum are moaning about the number plates being incorrectly styled for the area -- but nobody has noticed one of the cars isn't just a different model, it's BRIGHT RED.
Didn't what's her name shoot out the tires of the other car? I figured they got a new one somehow.
Right. Susan was explaining to Mr. Bright what all she had to go through to get to where he was to give him the phone.
I figured they had to get a rental because the tires were blown out of the other car. Pick Enterprise. They pick you up.

Leigh. Which made the "Surrender, Lee" the guy uttered ominously funny. Pretty sure he's part of the race somehow. They'd not let her out so easy after that.
I keep wondering who was behind the wheel of the Homicidal Racist NonGhost Truck. If it was someone representing the parties responsible for the race or if it was another sponsor.
I think that it was the parties who run they race. When they decide that you are out, you are out.
Was that the same car they were driving before? I was really confused about that.
I'm assuming that it was a rental. She mentioned that the Tire World didn't have any tires, so I just thought that they'd gotten a new car.

Heh, yeah. I thought it was sort of a groaner, myself, and I like puns.
I hope they got the insurance for it.

That was my thought as well.
I'm sad her she was killed off so quickly although I do appreciate the reasons for her death (and the way it played out SCARY!). But, man, Brianna Barksdale!!
I think the actual line was, "That's where Lee surrendered." So that she could say, "Not this time." Perhaps it was the actress's delivery, but I liked the lines.
