Long-term abuse can make a person emotionally unable to stand up to the abuser, even if they'd willingly kill someone else. Especially if she came from a background of abuse. Also, people who come from such a background can be very timid, but suddenly whack someone who's more powerless than they are. There's a lot of rage there. I can totally see Wendy being unpredictably dangerous. The door's been opened for her to access that rage, now.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Yuhu, that fits. Thanks Zenkitty. I certainly wouldn't get in the way of Wendy (and her tank car).
He did get those cops after her right quick, too.
Did he? I kind of thought that might have been the race people, but I suppose faux!husband could have just come in later, after ass!husband (well, I suppose abusive!husband would be more descriptive, but ass!husband sounds better) tracked her down.
I assumed the husband reported the car stolen and the race people took over from there.
I finally got to watch all three episodes in order this weekend - yay iTunes! I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Despite the fact that I do like it, however, I still don't get the basic premise. Why would someone kidnap a guy's wife to force him to be in a race? Especially when there are other people in it voluntarily.
While not the coolest thing, the driving was pretty cool, although I noticed that they always seem to be driving down the same stretch of road.
Finally, have we seen Katie Finneran? I was looking for her, but I caa't remember seeing her.
She played Alex's sister. Her hair is really long and mostly strawberry blonde. At least I think that was her.

Yes. She played Alex's sister and was talking about Alex and his missing wife to Officer Not!Jubal.
Especially when there are other people in it voluntarily.
We don't know that they are in voluntarily.
For some of the contestants, the $32 mil is the biggest carrot the sponsors could want. That would include killing for it. You just have to choose your contestant carefully.

Dad looks to be in it voluntarily, doesn't he?
