"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I believe Tim discouraged the Inside DVD campaignyness at the time.

Yes, if memory serves, I think you're right. But I never understood why a DVD campaign was a bad idea, especially since we didn't get DVDs. Unless he knew that DVDs were NEVER going to happen (and I thought at one point he thought they were - I may be forgetting a point where he said it was a never-going-to-happen).

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Tamara,

that's my recollection.

It's not that I'm the only one, it's that I'm the honest one.

I thought only the save the show campaign was discouraged? The DVDs were initially thought to be a foregone conclusion, until they were, y'know, not.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I'm pretty sure I asked Tim about a DVD campaign and he said something like it shouldn't be needed. Although I could be wrong. 20th Century Fox do some maths about cost vs audience. I'm actually still surprised they didn't release them as it had a good 3 million plus viewers by the end so it seems a little dumb.

Now, Drive DVD? First of all, I want. Secondly, commentary's could be fun. Thirdly, multiple pilots would be wacky and great. Plus they've got loads of material they already shot, like interviews, behind the scenes etc.

Another social casualty...

Good news! Fox showed a re-run of the Bones pilot last night from 9 -10. They showed at least one Drive ad for Monday night. Still advertising is good, right?

In theory. "Crime Dog" was being advertised right up to the date it didn't air, though.

I'm pretty sure Drive will air this Monday.

I believe they did the same thing with Kitchen Confidential. Not that I don't think people should tune in. I'm just saying: Fox.

My early thoughts regarding Drive:

-- I like Winston more than Alex. Despite the "Homes" factor.

-- However, seeing the character called "MAlex" on other boards irritates me. Probably just because I was so not a Firefly fan.

-- I don't think J.D. Pardo has been an acting tour de force on the show as of yet, but I still find Sean's interactions with Winston rather charming. Particularly in the last episode, "Would you believe me if I said I was innocent?" and catching up on each other's histories.

-- I get the comparisons people see between Emma Stone and Lindsay Lohan, but I can't help but think that shortchanges Emma. And hell, I liked young Lindsay's work. I just think Emma's so much more than just another pretty redhead with a husky voice. She's been a pleasant surprise for me.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Huh - I don't think noticing that she looks like Lindsay Lohan says antyhing at all about her acting abilities, but I haven't really been paying attention to fandom outside of this board.
