[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Some people don't bother watching shows because they know they will get cancelled. That effects net viewing figures to some extent.

Not really. It would only matter if those people were Nielson families. And since those people would know that their viewing would help decide what goes and stays, I wouldn't think their attitude would be the same as an average viewer.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Personally I think Drive looks bad for FOX due to the nature of launching yet-another big show, and yet again having it fall over straight away if they put House in it's place.

I think those things may end up being bad for the executive(s) who green lighted it, but I don't think it affects the network per se, other than influencing what they are going to green light the next time. It's not that they'll think "gee, maybe we should give the next one like that a chance to find it's audience", it's going to be more "well, let's not do THAT again".

What is even happening?

Kristen wrote 106, so I'm pleading with the universe that they air them all.

If the schedule doesn't change Allyson, when is 1.06 supposed to air? I'm so excited for it.

Swouncing

when is 1.06 supposed to air?

According to Monique's site, May 7. I'm excited from a whole ocean away.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

According to Monique's site, May 7.

That makes sense. Three have aired, so the next three would be Apr. 23, Apr. 30, and May 7.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

And since those people would know that their viewing would help decide what goes and stays, I wouldn't think their attitude would be the same as an average viewer.

If Nielsen families don't act the same as an average viewer, though, it doesn't present much of a good system. Although I'm not sure Nielsen's data is much of a good indication anyway (not meaning that I'm saying it's not -- meaning I don't know enough about it). We had Nielsen on site at work today. The technical side of their applications is crap. That much I do know.

What is even happening?

Is there anything new left to say in this discussion?

cereal...

Thank you, Nilly! May 7th. I'm so excited I can't stand it. I think we will see it air on the network.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The networks know the Nielsens are crap, but they're also the only tracking system they have. (Tivo's viewer tracking is far more detailed and comprehensive, but advertisers subtract those numbers from the larger Nielsen ratings because Tivo-ers don't watch the ads.)
