Ugh. Serial drama burnout or were there so many promos that people got sick of them and took a pass (the critic for the Boston Globe had a comment to that effect)? If the latter, it would be a painful irony.
Oh well, x-ed fingers for tonight then (and that lots and LOTS of peopled DVRd last night or something; maybe they'll watch in real time tonight if they liked it).

Everyone I told to watch had this response - "oh, not that show!"
Personally, I think that the obvious audience for this show are TAR fans. And lots of those folks were watching TAR and maybe taping or dvring Drive to watch later.
The reality is there hasn't been a successful racing drama series for a long time. So that might be the problem. Much like Fillion's last movie thing, Slither, tanked -- great film, but horror comedy, which tank.
I hope so -- it should be a lead pipe cinch for TAR fans. In their secret hearts they've always wanted Phil to hand a gun to the last team to the mat and tell them they have one last chance to stay in the race.
edited to add:
And I bet Phil has also wished that at times.
I wonder if I can bang into work sick due to Nielsen ratings.
Surely that's okay in L.A.
If only Tim had put a Beagle in Alex's car.

DH kept making Cannonball Run jokes about Drive until I made him stop.
