I like pancakes 'cause they're stackable. Ooo, and waffles 'cause you can put things in the little holes if you wanted to.

The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

OMG hated the song over the credits. Sorry, Tim, but it's just wrong for the pace and the energy level of the show.

Yeah, that was close to Enterprise levels of bad. (Which means by next week I'll adore it and be wondering who replaced my taste in music with Folger's Crystals because that's just how my brain works sometimes. Bad brain! No biscuit!)

Also, the credits themselves were kinda spoilery -- Dylan Baker was conspicuously absent and then mentioned as a guest star before his illness was revealed. Tsk tsk!

I watched with a fannish pal, and as soon as we got the flashback she figured out that that was Corinna's backstory, which was awesome. Hence the stowaway and the lying and everything. I'm sure she's got more going on, but I like her motives.

DH and I guessed she was Flashback Girl too, which made the rest of the lead-up to her revealing it to NF a little frustrating -- once it became clear that she was going to spill it by the end of the ep, I just wanted her to get it over with already so they could become partners and move on with the rest of the show.

I saw that Tully stole Alan's car, but later he was driving in the truck again. How did this happen?

I *loved* that moment when the car stalled! It was totally Angel jumping into the wrong car in "City Of."

TAR would be more interesting with a body count.

CBS used to agree with you -- in season 4 or 5, they had the contestants swimming under an ice-floe covered river, retrieving clues from shark-filled aquariums, and driving (almost) into North Korea. I was sure someone wasn't going to make it. But lately they've gotten more cautious.

I think my favorite line was "I don't know!...I missed orientation." (Another very Angel-esque moment, that.)

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The special effectness of the title sequence totally doesn't work for me. It's not seamless special effects -- it's completely and utter obvious show VFX and makes it plainly obvious they're special effects happy.

The song is catchy... But not at all what I expected.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, there were a bunch of Angelesque moments that had me giggling. Also the "I seriously doubt that" remark.

Kristen Lehman reminds me a little too much of Elizabeth Rohm for me to really warm up to her yet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I decided she reminds me of the woman from Profiler, so I'm hoping she doesn't do the wide eyes, slightly open mouth thing too much.

What is even happening?

Kristen Lehman reminds me a little too much of Elizabeth Rohm for me to really warm up to her yet.

That's who I was thinking she was at first, but she had too much personality, so I realized she must be someone else.

I think my favorite line was "I don't know!...I missed orientation." (Another very Angel-esque moment, that.)

Yes!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Maybe they're making him up to look more frail due to his illness, but I'm surprised to learn that Dylan Baker is only 47.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I loved the "I missed orientation" line (because I so totally would), but I'm also harboring a secret dream that they told everyone that they just missed orientation, and they'll have to figure it out as they go.

Plus, I want my text messages to be that readable.

overall verdict: Watched it for the Tim-n-Kristen, staying for the LOVE!

Yeah, that was good times. I'm psyched. I'm kind of with Dana on being all set with car races, but I figure like the fights in Buffy, that's the part where I can pay less attention.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I like Los Bros Salazar a whole lot. Too many blondes for me to tell them apart, though.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I NEED THE NIELSEN DATA RIGHT NOW.
