They should organise one of those Xbox Live play-a-celeb event things. Test Drive Unlimited is the bees knees.
The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
So we were over at my mom's for Easter, and my brother asked me something about "TV's hit Drive." And I started to answer, then said, "Wait, why are you calling it that?"
"Because that's what you keep calling it."
"...Oh."
But still, I've only actually seen him one other time so far this year, so clearly it's an infectious phrase. Is it too late to change the title?
Mr. Jane announced the premiere of tv's hit Drive last night at the bar. Then he did Minear trivia for free shots.
Just saw the post in press: Holy crap and congrats, Allyson!!! There were some heavy-hitting writers mentioned alongside you, I'll tell you what!
I love how Strega's brother and Daisy's dh are drinking the Kool-Aid. I've had too much, myself. I saw a news broadcast of that gasoline give-away, last week. I could have sworn the anchor introducing the segment referred to the show as FOX's new hit, Drive, but when I went back, realized he just said, "show."
Is it too late to change the title?
Once Drive starts up, we'll probably turn over this thread pretty quickly, even though we're only just over the half, right now. We can do a "TV's hit Drive" sort of thing for Minearverse 6. I proposed "Now Watch this Drive" for Minearverse 5, but it was deemed too something. That will always be my title platonicus for Minearverse 5, no matter what we called it.
We've seen nearly a 4 fold increase of traffic to DF over the last week. It's ramping up day by day (it's more popular than the Serenity site at the minute). So that fills me with a little glee. The original target was to hit 100,000 unique visitors by air date, and it looks like we'll exceed it slightly -- I figure it's not bad for a show which ain't aired yet.
There's a bit more buzz on the interwebs today, too, and the schedule looks almost entirely clear (aside from the dancing with monkies show and Housewives on Monday).
Tonight, while watching The Shield, I saw a promo for Tim Minear's Drive. Two commercials later, I saw a promo telling me to catch "an all new season of Drive, only on Fuel TV." Not the same show. This can't be good.
Fillion and probably some other stars were doing their Fox duty and sitting in the American Idol audience this week. If there's any concern that Drive commercials aren't reaching an audience, they get Super Bowl viewers several times a week on AI.
Where was he? I didn't catch him. But, to be bitchy, I find most of this year's AI contestants to be better fodder for the ears than the eyes. So I often work on something else while it's on.
ETA:
Never mind! Found 'em! Kristin and Kevin were there too.
Serial posting for those who, like me, spaced out during American Idol -- if you missed the Drive cast appearance, no worries. I got you covered.
Also, if all those faces have you confused, the official Web site now has character bios! I'm told ita should check out Leigh's bio, especially that last sentence.
