[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

The first season will be 13 episodes, Fox willing.

Okay; I thought that maybe because the pilot was reshot we would only get 12.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Has the rough cut of the (new) Drive pilot been leaked online?

(Edit: logic being I've seen a few reviews on blogs.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Does the two hour premiere count as episodes 1 and 2 or as just 1 but it's expanded?

It's not that I'm the only one, it's that I'm the honest one.

1 and 2 -- "The Starting Line" and "Partners"

Doesn't look like the new pilot is online.

FOX have also started adding new clips to viral marketing sites - example here: [link] (spoilers, uhm, obviously). It has to be said the clips which have been placed online aren't attracting the kind of preshow buzz that things like Heroes got. It's nothing to do with the clips -- DRIVE just doesn't have that level of online buzz associated with it yet. But I think we all know that online buzz isn't always a good indicater of offline interest.

Yeah, those clips have been on other sites for about a week, as well.

I'm not quite sure why "it has to be said," to be honest. It's an apples and oranges comparison, IMO. Heroes got a lot of preshow buzz because it featured ordinary people with extraordinary powers, and people were intrigued by the potential clips.

Frankly, the promos for TV's hit Drive features clips of people driving on the interstate, thus far. I used to do that every day, twice a day. This show will most likely gain the kind of buzz you're referring to after the premiere. I still think they're on a good path -- there have been articles and blog mentions from people who feel they're seeing promos every time they turn on FOX. I believe the word "inundated" was used at one point.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I caught a Drive promo yesterday - don't ask me which one or what it was one during, I have no idea. The point is, it looked fun and made me want to watch the show.

What's funny is, it could have been one of three promos! A new one premiered during Prison Break, the one that first debuted last week aired during 24, and the old stand-by with Corinna's narration ran during The Riches.

I like the two new ones, myself. One brings in the funny, while the previous ones have been ALL DRAMA. Which, hey, the drama is good, but the drama plus the funny is even better.
