Yeah!

Let us stifle simple throwaway joke lines buy calling more attention to them then they needed, and pretend they are a slam on a political belief.

Fox News has been the butt of jokes on the Fox network, so I don't think it's totally uncalled for to call them on their sensationalist practices- this does not even begin to talk about politics, unless you see the Anna Nicole Smith coverage political- and a story about an illegal road race would not be percieved as a political piece.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

but it's always just possible that someone of a different political view might end up being a fan of the show.
Also possible that someone of a different political view might even be a member of the boards.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, if it's not about politics, the implication is that people who watch Fox News are all stupid. I don't think we really need to be doing that here, either.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Totally possibly to have different political views and still see what a crock Fox News is. And I do reserve the right to mock that. That's not about being Republican, Dem, or other, it's about being in the reality-based world.

*raises hand* not that i watch Fox News, but i am one of those craxy Red Pelicans.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Also possible that someone of a different political view might even be a member of the boards.

Or even a creator of the show.

But Fox News is still a joke.

Yeah, this is more where I was going.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

And I do reserve the right to mock that.

I kinda thought that was what the board was about. Seriously, I would really hate to see any show or network get any kind of protected status. Personally, I think that would be more likely to drive people away than any mocking.

What is even happening?

Let us stifle simple throwaway joke lines buy calling more attention to them then they needed, and pretend they are a slam on a political belief.

Hi, Colin. I don't care enough about the particular issue on mocking/not mocking Fox news, but I just want to mention that we generally don't address each other the way you addressed Liese.

We do disagree all the time, and will spend hours, days and untold bandwidth doing so, but we're a pretty civil group of people. I know you're not brand new, but I haven't seen you post a whole lot here, so I'm saying this in a friendly way to you. I hope that comes across. Maybe the rancor I read in your post wasn't intentional, and you were just aiming for good-natured snark. I wasn't going to mention anything, but it sort of startled me to see someone posting to Liese like that.

And to be fair to you, occasionally, you will see two people talking to each other like that here, but that's generally only when they're really familiar with one another and friendly in real life.

Okay. I'm done. Going to hide, now.
