Truly, Matt, that is a curse worthy of the Empress.
The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
They're totally copying Forever Knight!
I thought of Angel, myself. Which Zap2It did too, it seems.
I thought of Angel, myself.
I was making a joke, what with Angel being the obvious point of reference at this board. Plus the old gripe among Forever Knight fans that Angel was a ripoff. And if I keep explaining this joke I'm sure it'll get funnier and funnier. That's how it works with humor.
Well, P-C is a bit young for Forever Knight.
Funnily, I thought of it first.
Well, "detective" is not the first word I'd think of to describe Angel. I've not seen a lot of FK, but IIRC, it's much higher on the list for him.
Well, Angel did have a detective agency, with low rats. sobs.
Actually, I think all three are quite different. The FK dude was on a quest to become human again, right? For Angel, that was part of the goal, but he turned it down more than once and, really, it was more about redemption. I actually think this new thing sounds, well, new. I mean, just because it's vampires doesn't mean it's a ripoff.
Of course, my feelings to this may be related to the fact that, while I like Spike, I'm not all that crazy about him and think he was a bit overused on both BtVS and AtS.
And yes, I understand, joke, but sometimes I just can't help myself, especially when I'm so far behind on both Natter and Bitches that this is pretty much it for a while.
Edited because I screwed up on the simple html and didn't even notice. And then screwed up all later posts because I forgot to close the tag, although at least I noticed that one right away. I think I just lost all my geek cred.
Funnily, I thought of it first.
me too. Maybe because the agency was less about being a detective and more about being a way to keep a roof over their heads.
And if I keep explaining this joke I'm sure it'll get funnier and funnier.
"I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I SEE IT!!!!!"

"I myself am strange and unusual."
(Yes, quoting Beetlejuice summons goths. You shouldn't be surprised by that.)
