You're very close, Jen. (Assuming it's the promo I think it is.)
"People die in this race. Sometimes they die because of it."
And now he has Kristen for extra special death.
Geez, I need to pitch more death at work. Apparently, I've got a rep to protect.
ETA: But I can still kill a thread like nobody's business.
Loyalty to Tim(and Kristen) will make me watch a show, but it has to win my love on its own merits. For Firefly that happened in the premiere's last scene, for Wonderfalls it was a done deal halfway into the revised pilot's teaser, and for The Inside it took several episodes before everything gelled for me. That track record and the awesome cast suggest I'll get there with Drive as well, but it's not a foregone conclusion.
With adjustments for exact moments of falling in love, I am Matt.
I described it (badly, but got the gist across) to my mom and she got all excited. She has no loyalty to Kristen or Tim. According to her , it's her kind of show (she likes cars, arcs and characters.) Unfortunately, I don't think they get FOX in too clear with the rabbit ears...
Kristen, it's death cred by association.
Allyson, I think you really need to come out and tell us what awful things you say in your book about Spike.
OMG! They're anagrams!
This post made me laugh.
Jackal - your Myspace photo is that of a 900lb serial killer. Brilliant!
My Drive sale pitch: why would an unknown amount of people enter a road race where nobody knows how long it'll last for, how far they'll travel or where they will go? What - uhm - drives people to do that?
And by how far they will travel, I also mean how far they are prepared to go, not just physically move in a car. Characters actions tend to define if people love, hate or are indifferent to them in shows, and Drive's format would -- I'd imagine -- force a lot of characters to make a lot of choices an episode. So hopefully after the first 2 hours, people can say 'XXX to win', which implies some sort of investment in the show. And I don't mean Vin Diesel.
Saw what happened to you at Whedonisque, Alyson....Yikes...
Oh well..what is a fandom without it's scary stalkers...
I shouldn't read things like that, early in the morning. Good on Simon and Caroline for putting a stop to it.
For people here who haven't had the pleasure of reading
Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby,
let me tell you, the draft chapters I got to read are terrific. You'll laugh. You'll cry. And when you come across a story where all the players are new to you, you may just shout, "No way!" which will soon turn to, "Yes! Yes! Yes." Then you'll start laughing, all over again. The book is worthy of its ever-so-delicious title.
What Allyson says at Whedonesque is probably the best way to describe it. This is a book you can give to your loved ones to explain, "This is why I love the people in the box on my desk."
