Good luck. Try not to kill people. Hands! Hands!

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

My former bosses usually used the phrase "Come to Jesus meeting" when we'd have to call someone on the carpet about whatever they were doing wrong, and let them know they were on thin ice and better get in line.

What is even happening?

I've never had it explicitly explained, but I always took it to mean how it's used in Monique's context.

My guess is that it is short hand for being shown the error of your ways, and your need to repent.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's how I understood it too. But I'm assuming there's more to it, something potentially embarassing.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

But I'm assuming there's more to it, something potentially embarassing.

It's not about the embarrassment, so much as the hellfire and damnation.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's not about the embarrassment, so much as the hellfire and damnation.

I don't even like getting heckfire and darnation.

What in tarnation do you like?

Nor should you. Dreadful language, that.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I just had to explain the text and subtext of 'come to Jesus meeting' to a Buddhist co-worker.

I don't think I've ever heard of 'come to Jesus meeting' until now, but as an atheist, I probably have a standing invitation to one.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Think tent revivals and speaking in tongues.
